Cynthia Mason, CNM

Graduated from Case Western Reserve University with her Master’s Degree in Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health in 2009. She is a Cleveland, OH native and has had extensive training as a registered nurse and patient advocate in the hospital setting supporting women during labor and birth. Cynthia spent 4 months at Charleston Birthplace, a free-standing birth center in Charleston, SC that primarily does waterbirth.  Not only did she fall in love with the warmth and charm of the south, but she also fell in love with out of hospital birth and waterbirth!  While living down south in 2008, Cynthia became certified in waterbirth through Waterbirth International at a conference led by Barbara Harper.  She is excited to have found herself in a practice that routinely uses water immersion during labor and birth!  Cynthia is ecstatic to be a member of West Suburban Midwife Associates and be able to serve such a dynamic and diverse population of women!

Cynthia enjoys hiking and creekwalking in the summer time and downhill skiing during the winter. She is musically inclined and has been known to hum a few bars in the office or wander over to Gayle’s house and play piano.  Always the one to try new things, she has recently started to learn how to knit and play guitar. Cynthia currently resides in Oak Park.
